Last updated: February 15, 2026
This page sets out the terms under which the content and tools on PsyberSec are provided. By accessing or using this website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the disclaimers, limitations, and notices described below.
1. General Information Disclaimer
The information provided on PsyberSec is for general informational and educational purposes only. All content, including articles, guides, analyses, and tools, is published in good faith and is intended to support learning in the fields of cybersecurity, psychology, and digital privacy. However, PsyberSec makes no representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, adequacy, validity, reliability, availability, or completeness of any information on this website.
The cybersecurity landscape evolves rapidly. Information that is accurate at the time of publication may become outdated as standards, regulations, threat vectors, and technologies change. You are encouraged to verify any information independently before acting upon it.
2. Not Professional Advice
Nothing on this website constitutes professional cybersecurity consulting, psychological counseling, legal advice, or any other form of licensed professional guidance. The content relating to cybersecurity is not a substitute for engaging a qualified security professional to assess your specific environment. The content relating to psychology is not a substitute for professional diagnosis, treatment, or therapeutic advice from a licensed mental health provider.
Always seek the advice of appropriately qualified professionals with any questions you may have regarding cybersecurity incidents, psychological concerns, or legal matters. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read on PsyberSec.
3. CPE Tracker and Educational Accreditation
PsyberSec is not an accredited educational institution. Use of the CPE Tracker does not guarantee acceptance of credits by third-party certifying bodies (e.g., ISC2, ISACA).
The CPE (Continuing Professional Education) Tracker provided on PsyberSec is a self-reporting organizational tool designed to help users log and manage their own professional development activities. It does not constitute an official record of continuing education, nor does it imply endorsement, accreditation, or certification by any third-party organization.
Users are solely responsible for verifying that any CPE activities they log meet the requirements of their certifying body. Acceptance of reported credits is at the sole discretion of the relevant certification authority. PsyberSec bears no liability for credits that are rejected, disputed, or otherwise not recognized by any external organization.
4. External Links
This website may contain hyperlinks to external websites or resources that are not owned or controlled by PsyberSec. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, practices, or availability of any third-party sites or resources. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship by PsyberSec.
We encourage you to review the terms of service and privacy policy of every third-party website you visit. You acknowledge and agree that PsyberSec shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of any third-party content, goods, or services available through such websites.
5. Data Usage and Privacy Considerations
PsyberSec processes personal information in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Full details of what information we collect, how it is used, the legal bases for processing, and your rights as a data subject are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Key points relevant to this disclaimer:
- We collect only the information necessary to operate the website and provide its features, including account authentication via Supabase and anonymous usage analytics (when you consent).
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
- Data collected through optional analytics cookies is anonymized and aggregated. It contains no personally identifiable information.
- Account data is retained only for the duration of your active account and is permanently deleted within 30 days of account closure.
- Server logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and diagnostic purposes and are then automatically purged.
Your Rights as a Data Subject
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and receive a portable copy of your personal data, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time. Under the CCPA, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request its deletion, opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information, and exercise these rights free from discrimination. To exercise any of these rights, please visit our Privacy Policy or contact us.
6. Cookies and Consent Management
PsyberSec uses cookies and browser local storage to operate the website and, with your explicit consent, to gather anonymous usage analytics. Our cookie practices are governed by our Cookie Policy and the cookie consent management section of our Privacy Policy. The following summarizes the practices most relevant to this disclaimer.
Categories of Cookies Used
- Essential (always active) — Required for site functionality, including authentication session tokens (Supabase) and your cookie consent record.
- Analytics (consent required) — Anonymous page view and performance data via Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights. No personally identifiable information is collected.
- Functional (consent required) — Preferences such as your display theme setting.
- Marketing — Not currently used. If introduced in the future, fresh consent will be requested.
Preference Storage Duration
Your cookie consent preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage for exactly 1 year from the date you set them. Each stored record includes a consent date and a computed expiry date. On every page load, PsyberSec checks whether your preferences have expired. If the 1-year retention period has elapsed, the stored record is automatically deleted and the consent banner is re-displayed, requiring you to re-confirm your choices. This mechanism ensures compliance with GDPR Article 7(4) and CCPA Section 1798.135.
Withdrawing or Changing Consent
You may withdraw or modify your cookie consent at any time by clicking the cookie preferences icon in the bottom-left corner of any page, selecting “Manage Cookies” in the site footer, or visiting the Cookie Policy page. Changes take effect immediately. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.
Browser Privacy Signals
PsyberSec honors Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. If your browser transmits either signal, we automatically default to essential-only cookies without displaying a consent banner.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PsyberSec and its operators shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or relating to:
- Your use of, or inability to use, any content, tools, or features on this website, including the CPE Tracker

- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or any personal information stored therein
- Any loss of data, revenue, profits, or business opportunities resulting from your reliance on the website
- Any third-party conduct, content, or services accessed through links on this website
This limitation of liability applies whether the alleged liability is based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory, even if PsyberSec has been advised of the possibility of such damage.

11. Changes to This Disclaimer
PsyberSec reserves the right to modify this disclaimer at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page.
